Accepting Christ

If you have come to a realization that you haven't been  fulfilled or satisfied with what this life has to offer, let me show you why.

Road to Romans

Romans 3:23, 6:23, 10:9

We are going to look at three verses in the book of Romans that will give insight into the reason there is a void or lack of satisfaction in your life.

Romans 3:23 - "...everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence."

This verse tell us that no matter how good we think we are or how many nice things we do for people, we are sinners.  A sinner is someone that can never be worthy of salvation.  In the purity of God's eyes, we are filthy.  That is why we need someone who is able to remove our sins in front of God.  To be our intercessor, our public defender if you will.  Thank God that there is someone who was sent for that reason...Jesus.  He was sent to suffer for our sake.

Sin holds us back from getting close to God.  God and sin are like the east and the west.  They will never meet.  God never compromises when it comes to sin.  The missing piece (or peace) in your life is due to a lacking relationship with God, and the lack is due to sin.

Romans 6:23 - "For sin pays its wage - death; but God's free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord."

The result of sin is death.  Both physically and spiritually.  Adam was the first man to disobey God in the Garden of Eden.  Disobeying God is sinful and everyone has disobeyed God in their life.  You don't have to murder anyone to sin, just the thought of it is sin.  Have you ever had a lustful, evil, selfish, jealous, envious or ambitious thought?  Of course, we all have.  That's why everyone has sinned.  So, how are we ever able to enter heaven?

Romans 10:9 - "If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from death, you will be saved."

Even though it is that simple, people usually make it more complicated.  They think they still have to "work" or "earn" their salvation.  They don't.  If you have ever received a gift in your life, you know that you didn't have to earn it.  All you had to do was accept it.  That's because it was a gift, given with love.  If it was something you earned, then it was a payment for your time and services (like a paycheck from work).  But, salvation is a gift.  God is giving you a chance to receive His free gift of salvation.  All you have to do is recognize that you are a sinner, turn from your sin, confess that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from death.  If you sincerely receive that into your heart, you will be saved.

If you are at a point where you recognize the need of Jesus in your life, then pray this prayer with me.

Dear Jesus,  I recognize that I am a sinner and I'm ready to turn from my sin.  I also recognize that You are Lord.  I believe in You and that God raised You from the dead.  I need You in my life and accept You into my heart.  Please forgive me as I repent of my sins.  Work in my life that I may be used by You and for You.  I pray these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.  Amen.

If you have just sincerely prayed this prayer and accepted Christ into your life, please contact us and let us know.  We will be more than happy to send you a free book entitled "How To Follow Jesus" by author Greg Laurie (use this resource in conjunction with the Bible).  We also want to pray for you and assist you in any way we can.

We praise God for you,
