Praise Band Review - Christian Praise & Worship

Fact, Liverpool has the Beatles.  Fact, the Beatles were a secular music phenomenon.  Fact, the Beatles did not specifically use their music to save lives.  Fact, if Liverpool has the Beatles, then the Kingdom of God has the Lively Hearts.

The Lively Hearts is a Beatlesque praise and worship band from Calvary Chapel Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Although they may have a similar sound to the Beatles, this band has a totally different focus for their music.  The Beatles may have touched many lives, but the Lively Hearts have touched many lives for Jesus.  With outreaches in Russia, India and Mexico, the Lord is using these guys in amazing ways.

Okay, we know what genre of music they play.  But, how's the music itself?  Well, forget that two out of the four members of this band are pastors at the church, because it really doesn't matter.  When their album is in your CD player, all you hear are four talented musicians using the gift of music to touch the world for Jesus.  Their album, "Everywhere I Go", is a collection of Beatles' pop style songs with the message of salvation purposely woven into the lyrics.  The songs are composed (musically and lyrically) in such a way that the message is clear yet you can't really tell you're listening to a praise band.  This alone makes the album a great evangelistic tool.

Track 6, "When It All Comes Together", is my absolute favorite on the album.  It's a warm lyrically driven song that relays the eternal love and comfort that one receives from walking with God. "Don't you hear Him calling, He's calling out to you, He'll bring it all together for you, and make your life brand new."  With lyrics like that, it's obvious that God's fingerprint is all over this song.

If you loved the Beatles, you'll love the Lively Hearts.  If you love God, you'll love the Lively Hearts.  If you love music that saves souls, you'll love the Lively Hearts.

Pastor Skip, Asst. Pastor Paul, Sandy and Ken, I praise Jesus for the work you do and the music you play.  May God continue to use the Lively Hearts to turn more Hearts to Him.
