Artist Review - Christian Music

Praise Report Radio's current featured artist is "Athena."  With a soulful R&B flavor and likeness to Mariah Carey, Athena is definitely a welcomed addition to Praise Report Radio's playlist.  We interviewed Athena regarding the music industry, her debut album "Grateful" and her life's mission for Christ.

KPPR: Describe your genre of Christian music?

Athena: Christian/Pop

KPRR: Who have people said you resemble musically?

Athena: Mariah Carey

KPRR: What is your album "Grateful" all about?

Athena: Grateful is all about how lost I use to feel before I knew Jesus and how fulfilled I feel now.  It's about going through temptations and normal human struggles and how God's power brought me through hard times.

KPRR: If you had one sentence to describe how you want this album to touch people, what would it be?

Athena: I want people to feel their need for Jesus in their lives by listening to "Grateful."

KPRR: What kind of industry advice can you give to an up and coming female Christian artist?

Athena: Put God first! No matter what happens keep your focus on Christ not on a record deal or getting on the radio etc...  Learn as much as you can about the music business.  And you have to believe in your music no matter what anyone says about it.

KPRR: What drives you to do what you do?

Athena: My love for Christ, music, and the desire to help save souls!

KPRR: Is there anything you want to add?
